NPUST Announcement of COVID-19 to our partner universities

Dear Partners and Friends,

On behalf of each of the departments, faculties and research institutions here at NPUST, we would like to cordially inform each of our respected international partners that due to the health risks posed by the COVID-19 outbreak, many academic activities involving travel will not be taking place as normal during this semester.

Further, out of an abundance of caution, the Administration has made the decision to postpone all student and faculty exchange activities until a time when the pandemic has subsided and health risk factors returned to normal levels. Although we are regretful on account of the many positive interactions that our students and faculty members could have otherwise benefited from this Spring semester, the measures have been put in place based on a genuine desire for everyone to stay healthy and for transmission rates to drop.

We hope very much that the conditions in your region are stable and that the impact will be minimal. We also hope that both government workers and medical researchers will see success in their efforts to mitigate the damages of the virus and find a solution to the problem as soon as possible.

Despite the inability to engage in regular in-person exchanges, we do hope that you will maintain communication with your contacts at our university and continue corroborative work over the internet wherever possible. We also look forward to restoring all regular activities and developing new opportunities with you as soon as conditions permit.

Best regards,

Pomin Li, Ph.D
Dean, Office of International Affairs
